St Luke's Grammar project

5 August 2021
St Luke’s Grammar at Headland Road hired Astra Street Furniture to supply outdoor furniture products.

St Luke’s Grammar at Headland Road, Dee Why NSW, hired Astra Street Furniture in December 2020 to supply the following products:

  • Vienna setting with benches – Merbau hardwood.
  • Athens bin enclosure – custom (timber slat base with custom powder coated covered top).
  • Octagonal 2.7 m umbrella.

The client said: “The Vienna settings, umbrellas and Athens bin enclosures look great. We have them freestanding so we can move them around for different events. Very sturdy in the windy conditions we get!”

St Luke’s Grammar was founded in February 1993, following the unity of three Sydney Anglican Schools Corporation (ASC) schools on Sydney’s Northern Beaches. Since 1993 the school has grown to approximately 1200 students, with 150 staff at both campuses.

Building works are regularly and extensively undertaken at the Dee Why campus to ensure they are comfortably catering to the growing number of enrolling students, and that the facilities required for the extensive curriculum the school offers to its students across all cohorts are available.

The most recent development took place in 2020, with a brand new four-storey junior school building being completed at the Dee Why campus. The four-storey building contains multiple purpose-built flexible learning spaces, stimulating both collaborative and independent learning and providing an inspiring environment where the students can flourish. The school ensures it is keeping up-to-date with the current learning trends by offering breakout rooms, small-group learning nooks and acoustic treatment that enables purposeful learning design, for students to learn in a variety of modes.
