Premium office spaces in Sydney require a complex design process that balances the thermal performance of the facade with the celebrated views of the harbour city.  In this project, Shade Factor was briefed by Hassell Architects to provide a solution that could reflect a high percentage of incident solar radiation while limiting overall facade reflectivity. The Warema specialized mill slat venetian blind returns a high percentage of the UV and infrared components of the solar spectrum to the exterior and redirects daylight to workspaces. The interior slat surface is a matt non-reflective finish. To provide views even in the closed position, the slat is perforated.

The 2,800 blinds supplied over over 31 levels are all driven by a Warema KNX control system with full sun-tracking and shadow-modelling capability. The control systen is integrated with the BMS for administrative functions and accessible via tenant portal.

Warema blinds and controls are major contributors to the energy efficiency of this premium six-star Green Star project.
