Ashfield Boys' High School is a government-funded comprehensive single-sex secondary school for boys, located on Liverpool Road, in Ashfield. It was established in 1962 and caters for students from Year 7 to Year 12.
The Requirement
To improve the outdoor recreational and social space at the high school by installing new benches and tables, fostering a comfortable and functional environment that encourages student interaction, collaboration and well-being during breaks and extracurricular activities.
The Challenges
Optimizing the layout of benches and tables within the available outdoor area was a challenge, requiring careful planning to ensure efficient use of space without compromising student comfort or accessibility. It was important to choose materials for the benches and tables that could withstand weather conditions, daily wear and tear, and potential vandalism, while remaining low-maintenance and environmentally friendly. It was important to balance functionality with visual appeal to create an inviting and attractive outdoor space that enhances the surrounding environment and school architecture.
The Solution
After evaluating the challenges and requirements, the school selected the Woodville Bench with Bolt-down legs and Orbit Table in Monument to improve the outdoor recreational and social space.
