Fire collars – Low Cast-In Collars
Allproof's Low Cast-In Collars have been tested on a wide range of penetrations through concrete floors that are poured on site. The design of these passive fire collars allows the installer to simply fix the base to the formwork. The pipe penetration is then installed through the formwork and acts as the riser to the required height during the concrete pour. This process eliminates both the need for core drilling of penetrations after the floor is poured and retrofitting a fire collar or wrap. This method allows structural steel to be installed around the penetration.
Low Cast-In Collars consist of intumescent strip(s) encased in a recycled PP plastic casing with fixing base. In the event of a fire, the intumescent material expands casing as the penetration service melts or deforms. These fire collars have a steel ring at the base, enabling fast activation of the intumescent and forming a stable fire-resistant seal – maintaining both fire integrity and insulation.
The Allproof low cast in profile collars have been tested at accredited fire laboratories in accordance AS1530.4 and AS4072.1. The Collars have been designed to stack and for floor waste penetrations.
