Minetek has installed a Bildspec’s Series 100 double-glazed side-stacking operable glass wall as part of their new North Sydney office fitout. Situated between the boardroom and breakout room, and adjacent to sweeping views of the harbour and Sydney Bridge, the operable glass wall appears elegant and allows for the visual connection of spaces with acoustic reduction properties.

As well as facilitating the creating of a flexible space, this Rw44-rated operable glass wall is able to reduce a significant amount of external noise from the breakout room passing into the boardroom. Rw (Weighted Sound Reduction Index) represents the measurement of this reduction in sound.

Different combinations of top/bottom seals and board constructions are crucial in the wall’s ability to overcome sound transmission issues. The wall at Minetek has fixed top sweep seals with bottom mechanical retracting seals.
