Strong, stable and sustainable, oriented strand board (OSB) is a greener alternative to plywood. Timeless timber colours and abstract flair make DesignerOSB suitable for internal wall linings, cladding, shop-fitting, decorative paneling, cabinetry, office fitouts and displays.
Many finishes are available: DesignerOSB may be powdercoated, stained, varnished, painted or left raw. Water-based finishes are not recommended, as they can cause strand swelling. The four most popular finishes are all powdercoated options: clear, limewash, black, and white. While leaving the panels raw provides a lovely texture, powdercoating is a VOC-free option that increases the durability and wear of the panels.
Sustainable as well as flexible, OSB is manufactured from de-barked pine from well-managed forests. Most of the energy used in its production is recovered from the plant’s waste heat, making a significant reduction in the product’s carbon footprint. All DesignerOSB sourced by ForestOne is available PEFC 70%.
In addition, OSB acheives a BCA Group 3 fire rating. It can be treated with ForestOne’s factory-applied FR+ product to achieve a Group 1 fire rating, though lead times do apply.
