Carter Harvey Holt Plywood’s Ecoply was recently used in the construction of a new multi-purpose stadium in Myrtleford, Victoria.
The $2.6m multi-purpose stadium adjoins the existing indoor stadium at the Myrtleford Showgrounds. It has an all-timber frame and is sheathed in Ecoply and clad in Colorbond. The project was undertaken by Joss Construction, a team of regional builders from Albury.
Peter Lutton, Contract Administrator for Joss Construction explained the process, "The plywood sheathing provided both flexibility and stiffening of the walls in construction. The Ecoply sheets were attached to girts all around the building, sisalation and battens were then added to make cladding the irregular and angular shapes easier."
The additional court space will allow the stadium to accommodate table tennis, indoor soccer, gymnastics, group fitness, volleyball, summer basketball and netball, life-ball programs and school holiday activities for the Myrtleford and surrounding community.
Carter Holt Harvey Plywood is located in Myrtleford, Victoria and manufactures 100,000 cubic metres of Ecoply annually.
