The Springvale Community Hub is a flagship project for the City of Greater Dandenong and reflects the unique identities of its residents and their stories. The hub includes a library, communal spaces, council offices, and function rooms set on a playful, public parkland. Inspired by the immigrant journey, the project tells layers of history and emphasizes the importance of representation and connection through a flowing landscape.
A path links the hub with public seating, playgrounds, sports courts, a memorial, an indigenous ceremonial place, a children’s water feature, the rose garden, and a public barbecue. The outdoor dining facility from Christie Barbecues allows visitors to share a meal with the rest of the community.
