Sussex Taps was founded by Dutch watchmaker and jeweller Nicolaas Johannes van Putten, who emigrated to Australia in 1961. Today Nick’s family upholds his legacy of quality and precision while looking to the future. Sussex Taps continues to practice original traditions of crafting to create individual pieces that express individual tastes.
Stemming from an obsession with perfectly crafted tapware, Sussex Taps has created a specialist range of highly-adaptable, timeless pieces that can respond to any design. The Melbourne workshop allows all the crafting to take place on site, so that every aspect of the creative journey can be precisely controlled. Sussex Taps is the only Australian tap maker with its own foundry, which means precious brass shavings left over from the machining operations can be melted and recycled.
Sussex Taps enables architects, designers and specifiers to create endless combinations of colours and finishes, with custom engineering available to exact dimensions.
