New cladding profile: Element
The new 'batten look' cladding system.

Element was a direct response to the repeated inquiries from designers about a standardised solution to integrating deep battens within a cladding facade.

Woodform Architectural were inspired by a past project of theirs – Dandenong Mental Heal Health, 2011, which had timber batten on timber cladding. These battens were fixed to the cladding using the usual screw-from-behind method. During that time, they were trying to differentiate their cladding system from the commodity systems out there by offering three-dimensional textures with different thickness boards— soon realising they had to be more radical and introduce a batten-on-cladding system.

To see how the system works, the challenges faced and how the new range has been received by designers, head to the blog. Woodform are also offering a free download of their new cladding brochure, DWG and PDF files of the batten on cladding and installation instructions.
