Forum by huguet floor tiles

The Forum mosaic floor tile, designed by Jacques Herzog and Pierre de Meuron for the Forum building in Barcelona, is a contemporary interpretation of architect Antoni Gaudí’s famous Trencadis mosaic style. Each tile is a hexagon that has been subdivided into six triangles tilting very slightly downwards to an off-centre point.

When laid and grouted, the hexagons effectively disappear and the triangles dominate the pattern to create sinuous lines, while the tiles reflect light in different planes. The finish on the Forum tile is similar to marble.
