Nanotech to tried and true - EMEX 2012 has it all
The country’s biggest engineering, machinery and electronics event will be showcasing the best and newest the industry has to offer.
“More than 150 key industry suppliers will be there, giving around 4000 people the opportunity to get hands-on with equipment, tools, software, services and cutting-edge science,” says EMEX 2012 sales manager, Rob Lavender.
“The vibrancy of the sector is clear from the calibre of exhibitors and the huge resource investment they are making.”
Multi award-winning aluminium supplier NALCO will be showcasing the latest innovative products made from billet, plate and customised extrusion at EMEX 2012. Visitors will see a range of unique and innovative customer product and discover cutting and fabrication solutions.
Ron Holden, NALCO managing director, says the company has developed a strong relationship with customers and has a reputation for high-quality aluminium extrusion profiles and rolled products, providing a total solution – from design and alloy selection to technical support and fabrication services.
“We’re a multi award-winning aluminium business that is driven to provide great new product that meets market and environmental demands. Visitors to the NALCO stand will get a first look at the latest aluminium products, manufacturing techniques and aluminium solutions. We are looking forward to exhibiting at EMEX as it showcases some of the best and most innovative manufacturing solutions the New Zealand has to offer.
“We are a customer-driven organisation that delivers innovative aluminium solutions, tailored to our clients’ specific needs across an extensive range of markets and industries.”
Another side of EMEX that will offer value to visitors is the ability to discover innovative business solutions. One example is Velocity Trade Limited, an Auckland-based foreign exchange service provider.
“We work with companies to help them save money on international foreign exchange transfers,” says marketing executive Laura Dolphin.
“We’re looking forward to attending EMEX 2012 and seeing all the new technology and products that New Zealand has to offer. As a provider of international foreign exchange transfers, we hope to reach out to the players in the engineering, machinery and electronics industries. We help many New Zealand businesses (and individuals) save money on imports, exports and paying overseas invoices. We aim to create awareness at EMEX that there is a cost-effective option for foreign exchange thus supporting growing, innovative companies.”
Science is a feature too and eight top New Zealand universities will be giving visitors a unique opportunity to see into the future. Dr Luke Krieg of AUT says that visitors will get up-close with everything from cutting-edge nanotechnology to the next big thing in product design.
“There will be a large range of technologies on show and we’re happy to answer questions and talk about what the future might look like. There will also be a fascinating programme of speakers from research and industry. Whether it’s micro-machining, friction stir welding, wireless power transfer or anything else, you’ll see the leading edge at our EMEX 2012 space.”
Being more than a trade event, EMEX will feature seminars (including a leading Economist from BNZ), provide networking opportunities, and also have a fun side.
“Ford will run a number of show-only promotions before and after EMEX 2012, giving visitors a genuine reason to buy from our leading range, says Ford national marketing manager Chris Masterson.
“As the first major vehicle brand to partner with XPO in this B2B exhibition space, we’re delighted to support the industry through its key event, EMEX. Our vehicles are a great value match for specific business sectors looking at fleet or even personal needs. We’ll be giving away a brand new Ford Transit worth more than $50,000 to one lucky EMEX visitor. Visitors will be able to enter the draw on Ford’s stand in Hall 3.”
EMEX, held at the ASB Showgrounds in Auckland from 1 to 3 May, is almost sold out, so suppliers thinking about reaching 4000 qualified buyers need to act now, says XPO’s Rob Lavender.
Along with all the new technology on display from exhibitors, XPO will be piloting at EMEX an event smartphone app to help visitors interact with exhibitors, plan their visit, seminars, preview features and products and more. The app will be free to download before and at the event.
“EMEX is endorsed by IPENZ and HERA because it is a business event. Leading industry suppliers know the value and return year after year. There’s no time to waste if you want to part of EMEX. There’s more information at emex.co.nz. Industry professionals wanting to visit EMEX can also find details on the website on how to register and get free entry.”
