Canterbury’s domestic sewerage and water systems are broken! Letsfixit is calling all licensed plumbers, gasfitters and drainlayers to help Christchurch families in the wake of the earthquake. Letsfixit is a voluntary organisation set up for members of the plumbing industry to co-ordinate efforts to help the people of Christchurch get back on their feet by getting basic water and wastewater supply reconnected with no charge for labour, as soon as possible. It’s an interim, practical measure to get people through before the council and insurance are able to assist. Plumbers, Gasfitters and Drainlayers can register their interest at www.letsfixit.org.nz. Christchurch residents will soon be able to register for help and assistance on the website. Businesses and individuals from all over New Zealand and the Tasman will also be able to make donations to help this great cause out. The aim is to get one toilet, one shower and one sink for every home who needs it. We’re all desperate to help and this is a great practical way to assist tired, exhausted residents of Christchurch. Interested parties should go to www.letsfixit.org.nz to get more information.
