Haworth Asia-Pacific, part of the global Haworth furniture company headquartered in the United States, has appointed Europlan as its new distributor in the New Zealand market. Family-owned and privately held, Haworth serves markets in more than 120 countries through a global network of 600 dealers. The company had global sales of US $1.21 billion in 2010, a 9% increase on the previous year. “We were pleased to have formed this partnership with Haworth”, said Paul Van Dorsten, Europlan’s Managing Director. “Their commitment to the New Zealand market, innovative products and global research capabilities is very timely when corporations in New Zealand continue to expand not only here in New Zealand but into Asia Pacific where Haworth is a market leader.” In addition to distributing Haworth’s office furniture in the New Zealand market, Europlan is working with Haworth to design a new Organic Workspace in their Auckland showroom which will provide a collaborative, creative and knowledge based environment for clients and the architect and design community. The new showroom will be formally launched later this year and will showcase how workspace, coupled with organisational culture and sustainability plays a role in facilitating creativity and productivity for local and global companies in New Zealand.
