Designers Bubble and Speak at DIA seminars starting in July
The Design Institute of Australia (DIA) Queensland Branch Bubble and Speak breakfast seminars kick off in July and this years speakers will present some very interesting and diverse ideas on their creative processes across different fields, such as Interior design, Publication design – through to shoe design and the new fixed gear bike culture to hit West End, Brisbane!

The first seminar on Thursday 15 July 2010 includes Kelley Sheenan from Peppermint Magazine and Chris Connell from Chris Connell Design, Melbourne and Map International.
Kelley Sheenan has picked up five awards already for the indie magazine, including Best in Sustainability in Publishing and Best Design for a Consumer Magazine, with Kelley winning best overall Designer of the Year at the 2009 Publishers Australia Bell Magazine Excellence Awards.
Printed on 100% recycled paper and on a waterless printing press, Peppermint magazine is a green fashion magazine with a fun, fresh, intelligent and positive spin, promoting individuality, respect and DIY personal style (and of course sustainability) by showcasing the best of eco designers from Australia and the rest of the world.
Chris Connell, the second speaker, has over twenty years experience as a designer of residential, hospitality and retail interiors, as well as in designing and manufacturing objects and furniture. Chris has recently been exhibited at the National Gallery of Victoria, as part of the Cecily & Colin Rigg Contemporary Design Award for Flow which received a High Commendation. His recent residential project, Brimar Court, was the winner of the 2010 Interior Design Awards on a national level.

Dawes said "This year we are running four Brisbane seminars and one Gold Coast seminar. The Gold Coast event is a first for Bubble and Speak and we hope to see many of the Gold Coast design community along to enjoy a little bit of the Bubble and Speak magic! The Breakfast Seminar on Friday 17 September will be held at Q1 Spa and Resort Hotel."
