Unison Powers Up ERUPT Festival

24 February 2010

Unison Networks has powered up the ERUPT Lake Taupo Festival coming on board as the event’s new principal sponsor, the company announced.

Unison Chief Executive Ken Sutherland said putting the power behind Erupt Lake Taupo Festival is based on a natural synergy with the Taupo community.

“Unison has a long-standing commitment to support regional community events. With Unison’s support the spotlight will be on ERUPT and together we can showcase and grow the event,” Mr Sutherland said.

Festival Director Drew James said Unison's support will be vital for the delivery of the ERUPT Schools programme that attracted over 5,000 students from 27 schools in 2008.

“With Unison’s support we’re able to guarantee that students will have the opportunity to experience and participate in a massive range of activities at greatly subsidised rates.”

This year’s festivities will move and shake Taupo for ten days in May encompassing New Zealand and international theatre, dance, music, cabaret, comedy, visual arts and writing and an array of community and education activities.

Full details for ERUPT Festival 2010 will be revealed at the ERUPT programme launch on 11th March in Taupo.
