Custom seating by the Seatery
The tangram is a Chinese puzzle consisting of seven geometric shapes formed into one specific shape without overlapping. It originated as furniture pieces in the Song and Ming Dynasties and came to the west in 1802 as a puzzle game.
When architect Hassell designed a recreation of this popular puzzle as furniture for a large bank headquarters in Melbourne’s Docklands, they set a challenge for the bank’s employees in their lunch breaks.
It was a challenge The Seatery realized perfectly.
The Seatery is often commissioned by designers and architects to supply upholstered seating or panelling for interiors – the team can be relied upon to fully understand and interpret a brief.
