INSTYLE wins United Nations World Environment Day Award

INSTYLE has won a United Nations Association of Australia World Environment Day 2010 Business Award for the second time, this year for Environmental Best Practice Program.

INSTYLE was selected for its excellence in overall environmental management at a whole-of-business level and its commitment to driving real environmental change within its industry and supply chain for EthEco® wool.

The Award Judges said "Instyle is a clear industry leader that has dedicated significant resources to investigating and ensuring that the production of the textiles it uses is sustainable. The company has put in place an all-embracing business model that is built around delivering a sustainable product. Instyle has effectively engaged with and built the capacity of its supply chain up and down stream, from farm to manufacturing to the customer. Instyle's policies, practices and reporting set a high benchmark for other small and medium enterprises."

The winners of the 2010 World Environment Day Awards were announced on Friday 4 June at the Awards Presentation Dinner. The gala event, hosted by Rob Gell, President of Greening Australia was held at the Grand Hyatt Melbourne on the eve of World Environment Day.

The 5th of June is World Environment Day. Each year on this designated day, the UNAA seeks to focus world attention on the environment, and in particular, on positive programs that work towards protecting or restoring the world's natural heritage.
