Tactile ground surface indicators
Tactile Ground Surface Indicator’s (TGSI) purpose is to provide a special surface on public pathways & access routes that can be felt underfoot and recognised as a warning of impending pedestrian hazard or to assist with directions, particularly to the vision impaired, but also as an added safety precaution to all pedestrians.
Tactile indicator specifications and installations are driven by AS/NZS 1428.4.1:2009 Design for access and mobility standard Part 4.1 as well as the Disability (Access to Premises Standard) 2010 legislation. Tactile indicators are classified either as warning or directional types.
Global Safe provides 2 types of tactile indicators;
1) Drill and hammer method installation of discrete indicators.
2) Peel and stick method installation for tactile tiles.
The range tactile indicators provided are extremely functional, durable, economical & complimentary to any architecture standard. This was achieved by utilising the best materials available and considerable consultation with engineers and architects. The result is products that looks and performs like no other.
For more detailed information about the TGSIs please refer to the Tactile Ground Surface Indicator document.
