BER tactile and stair nosing project completes in ACT

6 June 2011

This industry leading BER principal builder has engaged Global Safe Technologies Australia to assist with the supply and installation of tactile ground surface indicators and stair nosing at several schools in Canberra.

The company was contacted after previous satisfactory tactile installation work at the ACT prison project. The requirements were to supply and install discrete warning tactile indicators and tactile tiles as well as to provide stair nosing at the various schools at a cost efficient manner. Full understanding and adherence to various relevant standards were also important as the company had to provide technical advice to the principal contractor on specific occasions regarding to the requirements.

For the stair nosing the Global Safe proposed the Safe Grip cold fusion anti slip stair nosing due to its proven very hard wearing, excellent bonding to various surfaces and long lasting slip resistance which will ensure that the solution will solve the issue for the next decade.

The project was done in stages as Global Safe also had to cater for construction delays due to the unusually wet weather as well as other alterations and various stages of constructions of the individual schools.

The project was completed in 3 elapsed months and required several visits to the sites. Global Safe has assembled a team of its Australia wide expert installers and engaged them at various stages of the project. Our team had to work very hard and very long hours to ensure that the project completion would stay on course.

Global Safe also offered its worldwide unique quality assurance system, which ensures that the solution provided is fully compliant with the relevant slip resistance standards and backed up with the relevant documentation. This solution is offered to commercial clients at no additional cost*.
