Sustainable DecoDeck™ timber-look decking
DecoDeck™ is the aluminium decking system that looks and feels just like timber. DecoDeck is a sustainable alternative to timber decking products for many reasons. The obvious reason for the sustainability of DecoDeck™ is that it provides an alternative to logging trees. Timber decking needs to be replaced more frequently, and creates more wastage from off-cuts, thus increasing the impact on the earth’s resources. DecoDeck™ only creates about 5–10% wastage, which can easily be recycled. Painting or staining timber decking releases harmful greenhouse gases, known as Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs), into the atmosphere. DecoDeck™ never requires painting or staining, minimizing atmospheric emissions.
Approximately 60% of aluminium ever produced is still being used today because aluminium is easy to recycle, can be recycled many times and does not need much energy to do so.
