DecoWood timber-look aluminium popular in the harsh Qld climate
DecoWood was the preferred choice for a number of large-scale projects on the Gold Coast recently. The wood grain finish on aluminium was selected instead of timber due to its durability in harsh conditions such as high UV radiation and salt spray that come with a marine environment.
The Hope Island Shopping Centre used DecoWood Casuarina cladding to create a natural look around the entrance. Being exposed to the elements all day, timber would have rapidly warped, rotted and turned grey. DecoWood aluminium has been tested extensively in some of the world's harshest locations to ensure it's durability in the face of extreme corrosive elements and carries a ten year warranty.
For the same reason DecoWood was used extensively throughout the Mon Komo residential and commercial centre in Redcliffe. Designed to reflect a luxurious Caribbean resort, Mon Komo featured DecoWood on sun louvres, allowing the light to come through whilst providing as much shade as necessary.
