DecoWood™ at Point Cook Shopping Centre
DecoWood™ Jarrah was the powder coating of choice for MetalART Industries 75 × 15 mm aluminium Supaslats used in the Point Cook Shopping Centre in Melbourne.
The slats were used as a screen wrapping around the first floor to achieve a timber look without the durability and maintenance issues that the use of wood entails.
A screen at that height would have been difficult to install if it was timber, considering its heavy weight compared to aluminium. A timber screen would have also been harder to maintain as it is in a difficult position to access. Being in direct sunlight for most of the day, it would have had higher maintenance requirements if it was timber as well.
DecoWood™ is a durable wood grain powder coating on aluminium. DecoWood™ complements the MetalART Industries product range as the sections are made into natural shapes that mimic the form of timber.
This has been enhanced in the Point Cook project with the slats being positioned unevenly next to each other to give a more natural effect.
