Boral works with AutoSpec to improve service for architects
Boral Timber and Boral Plywood have joined specification systems provider AutoSpec, making their comprehensive range of commercial and domestic products more accessible to architects, specifiers, developers and building designers.
AutoSpec is an ‘intelligent’ database-driven building product catalogue and specification writing system that allows the user to view and compare different products and prices, read datasheets and access CAD drawings. As products are selected, the software generates a manufacturer-warranted, fit-for-purpose specification clause and completes the appropriate trade section tailored specifically to the project.
One of the system’s key benefits is its ability to identify materials and components quickly and accurately. The tool saves specifiers significant time and eliminates the risks associated with researching products and describing them correctly.
Boral product experts work with AutoSpec so that the latest technical data is built into the AutoSpec decision-making tool. Each product range included in AutoSpec has been considered for every recommended permutation i.e. size, colour, material, substrate, environment factors and use.
Thomas Tyndall, Boral Timber specification manager for Victoria, describes the system as a leading edge tool for architects. “We have already had a really positive response to the system with architects finding it saves them time and is simple to navigate.”
Boral Timber’s specification managers are available to demonstrate how to use the program and can be contacted on the following numbers: VIC/TAS: Thomas Tyndall - 03 9790 1790 / NSW: Harry Strasser - 02 9735 5500 / QLD: Peter Ripikoi - 07 3215 2200 / SA/NT: Stuart Hanson - 08 8243 1122.
