Boral Plasterboard acoustic wall systems
FlexiBOARD™
FlexiBOARD™ is lightweight and easy to install, saving time and money when constructing curved plasterboard surfaces. Lightweight, FlexiBOARD™ scores and snaps easily and its extraordinary flexibility enables efficient construction of sharply contoured walls or ceilings without prior wetting of the board.
The recessed edges of FlexiBOARD™ ensure rapid taping and jointing and smooth flush finishing, producing a superior surface that will accept a wide range of decorative finishes.
Benefits
FlexiBOARD™ can be applied to timber, steel or masonry substrates. With so many alternatives, FlexiBOARD™ is an economical choice for construction of curved surfaces whatever the project.
Cinemazone™
Why use CinemaZone®?
When you sit back to enjoy your home theatre system, the last thing you want to hear is a truck rumbling down the street or a dog barking in the background. Nor do you want the other family members and neighbours to be disturbed by the sound of your high-performance audio-visual equipment. CinemaZone® acoustic walls and ceilings were developed to solve this problem.
The first system of its kind, Boral CinemaZone® incorporates Boral’s SoundStop™ plasterboard and other products specifically designed for sound isolation. The system design takes into consideration such building details as floor and wall coverings, size and location of windows and doors, lighting and ventilation to achieve audio-visual quality from the ground up.
D-stud
The acoustic performance of the D-Stud Wall System can be tailored to design requirements by varying plasterboard layers and thicknesses and acoustic insulation. The staggered stud format of the wall provides impact sound isolation where required by the Building Code of Australia. The D-Stud Wall System has been tested up to STC55 in Low Rise Walls and up to STC72 in High Wall Systems (also satisfying the low frequency performance criteria for cinema construction).
Economical
With fewer materials and contractors (the drywall contractor can complete most of the construction), the D-Stud System is rapid and easy to build on site, meaning faster construction and substantial cost savings.
Lightweight
Lighter than other systems, the D-Stud System requires less foundation size and storage space and related costs.
Fire resistance
The D-Stud System is capable of up to 2 hours fire resistance. The system can be constructed to achieve fire resistance ratings to meet various design requirements.
Structural stability
The D-Stud System can provide walls up to 13.4 metres in height without strapping or nogging, that are extremely stable and capable of withstanding design pressures without rotation or torsional buckling.
NeighbourZone™
NeighbourZone™ is a suite of plasterboard systems specifically developed to reduce neighbour noise that can be heard through existing dividing walls between dwellings.
All NeighbourZone™ systems are applied to one side of the wall and designed to reduce the level of noise in critical frequencies by approx 10 dB, effectively halving the level of neighbour noise.
