Boral bricks
Boral Bricks can be used in external and internal veneer and cavity walls, floors and architectural features for commercial, municipal and residential projects. Some can be specified Exposure Grade for coastal or harsh soil areas.
From a spectrum of colours in Escura to the natural limestone looks in Elan, Boral is always updating its collection. There are currently more than 200 brick colours and finishes across seven product ranges. Today’s brick shades and textures mean endless design options for buildings that breathe.
Benefits:
- Acoustic and thermal performance: the density of bricks makes for a quiet home with dramatically reduced external sound. It also creates more even temperature control due to its energy storing ability. This means a cooler house in summer and a warmer house in winter.
- Enduring, long-lasting colour: Boral bricks are made to last. Kiln-fired at temperatures of up to 1130º C, colour is locked in with no blistering or peeling
- Strong and Safe: Bricks don’t twist or warp, rot or decay, erode or dent.
- Low maintenance: Bricks have negligible routine maintenance. This is important to consider when looking at the ‘whole-of-life’ cost of a project.
Bricks are made from natural clay and shale, provide thermal comfort, are low maintenance, extremely durable, have an unsurpassed life cycle and are recyclable.
Together with good design principles, the use of thermal mass such that of bricks, in a building, levels out temperature swings, making it cooler in summer and warmer in winter. This is important to the environment as it means thermal comfort can be achieved with less reliance on artificial methods of heating and cooling.
