New Australian designed LED lamp saves energy and money
The new ALG1 LED lamp designed and developed locally by AuzLED Lighting enables Australians to enjoy safe energy saving and cost-efficient lighting. Thanks to its 240 Volt design it uses a mere 2.1 Watts of power, 30 times less consumption than costly heat generating low voltage 50 Watt halogen lamps and transformers.
AuzLED Lighting’s Managing Director, Damien O’Dwyer, said the ALG1 has a lifespan of up to 50,000 hours, which equates to 17 years at 8 hours per day, and operates at a cool 31 Celsius which is significantly below temperatures recorded by Halogen (170C) and Florescent (120C) lamps – diminishing any ceiling fire risks. “By choosing the ALG1, you get a direct 240 Volt lamp that is shatterproof, shock resistant and has been fully EMC (Electromagnetic Compatibility) test endorsed and carries AS/NZ3100 Electrical Safety Approval for installation in residential, commercial, industrial, medical and solar powered applications,” he said. “Most new homes have between 20 and 40 ceiling mounted down-lights, so installing our lamps the electricity savings can be in the region of $775 to $1,500 per annum.”
The ALG1 lamps light up instantly at full brightness, even in freezing conditions. They do not emit damaging ultraviolent (UV) light, where florescent and halogen lamps can cause aging and fading of fabrics and artwork. A selection of exceptional quality brushed silver or white coloured ceiling fittings in round or square designs come with a terminal mount and spring mounts to allow easy installation.
