Announcing FSC Chain of Custody Certification
Australian Recycled Timber is proud to announce they have successfully achieved Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) chain of custody certification. This means consumers can be assured that FSC certified timber sold by Australian Recycled Timber is traceable to responsibly managed forests or a genuine post-consumer (recycled) source.
Forest Stewardship Council is a non-profit, international organisation that was started in the early 1990’s by environmentalists, social activist and industry leaders in response to rapid global deforestation.
FSC certification is internationally recognised as the most rigorous environmental and social standard for responsible forest management.
FSC chain of custody tracks certified material through the entire production process - from the forest to the consumer. Many documented controls are in place, combined with regular independent auditing, to uphold the integrity of the certification and the environment.
Australian Recycled Timber can now service the ever-increasing market demand for FSC certified hardwood and softwood building products.
Boasting a range of high-quality certified recycled and new products the company has become a one-stop-shop for FSC certified timber. From stunning hardwoods ideal for flooring, decking, cladding and large dimensional posts and beams to softwoods suited to structural framing – Australian Recycled Timber has become a forward-thinking industry leader.
Australian Recycled Timber is committed to the future of the environment and regards FSC certification as being a key way to eliminate illegal or irresponsibly managed logging globally. The company also values honesty and believes FSC certification plays an important role in upholding the integrity of the forestry and timber industries within Australia.
