Duratuff Select used in two storey residence
JM Constructions has teamed up with Harris Building Design Services to complete a two storey residential project on the NSW Central Coast. Austech Building Products’ Duratuff Select was appointed to clad the first floor of the knock-down-rebuild job, in a concept that seems to be on the rise. Vinyl cladding is remarkably notorious on first floors and extensions in general, since its lightweight nature diminishes the need for structural support, as well as not requiring any painting, sanding or sealing, so once it's up, it’s finished. It is also commended for its insulation properties, as hot air rises during the winter and a poorly insulated second floor will let heat escape. The polystyrene backed Duratuff Vinyl Cladding wraps the walls in insulation, helping to minimise thermal bridging.
Jamie Harris, the owner of Harris Building Design Services, has been designing and drafting for 15 years now, is an Accredited Building Designer and a Principal Member of the BDA NSW.
