Echostop®

Echostop® is perfect for designers of interior spaces where the look of the room is just as important as its acoustic requirements. It is the quiet solution, creating a decorative finish while providing a high level of sound absoption to the space.

Echostop® perforated plasterboard is suitable for full ceiling installation or feature panels on walls or ceilings. Created for noise absorption treatment, it is available in 3 stylish designs with either square or round perforations to suit multiple applications.

Benefits of Echostop®:

  • High sound absorption with NRC up to 0.80.
  • Reduces noise reverberation.
  • Improves ability to distinguish speech and music.
  • A selection of perforations to cater for design requirements.
  • Reduces unwanted echo.
  • Smooth surface for decoration.
  • Provides monolithic ceiling look.
  • Prevents dust & insect ingress.

Quiet Living™

When determining the layout of the home or extension, it is important to be aware of the location of potentially noisy rooms. Proximity of living and entertainment areas, pipes, service ducts, toilet cisterns and domestic appliances will determine the areas that require a Quiet Living™ system and how ‘quiet’ the room should be.

Any wall or floor/ceiling system that separates a living area (like a kitchen or dining room) from a rest area (such as a bedroom) should be designed and constructed to provide a sufficient level of insulation against airborne and structureborne transfer of noise. Typical airborne noises passing through your partition include voices, TV, home theatre, musical instruments.

In a two-storey home, footsteps from above to the room below are a typical structureborne noise. Bare floors such as tiled or polished timber floors are especially prone to structureborne noise transfer.

The Quiet Living™ system work by reducing airborne or structure borne sound from passing through the wall or ceiling.

This is achieved by:

  • Utilising high density SoundSTOP® plasterboard and incorporating insulation in the cavity. (It is important to note that insulation alone will not provide sufficient sound control).
  • Sealing all gaps where noise can pass through by using a flexible sealant around wall perimeters.
  • By using resilient mounts on ceilings. Solid core doors with appropriate seals and acoustic rated windows should be considered to achieve optimum noise control.

Cinemazone™

Why use CinemaZone®?

When you sit back to enjoy your home theatre system, the last thing you want to hear is a truck rumbling down the street or a dog barking in the background. Nor do you want the other family members and neighbours to be disturbed by the sound of your high-performance audio-visual equipment. CinemaZone® acoustic walls and ceilings were developed to solve this problem.

The first system of its kind, Boral CinemaZone® incorporates Boral’s SoundStop™ plasterboard and other products specifically designed for sound isolation. The system design takes into consideration such building details as floor and wall coverings, size and location of windows and doors, lighting and ventilation to achieve audio-visual quality from the ground up.

D-stud

The acoustic performance of the D-Stud Wall System can be tailored to design requirements by varying plasterboard layers and thicknesses and acoustic insulation. The staggered stud format of the wall provides impact sound isolation where required by the Building Code of Australia. The D-Stud Wall System has been tested up to STC55 in Low Rise Walls and up to STC72 in High Wall Systems (also satisfying the low frequency performance criteria for cinema construction).

Economical

With fewer materials and contractors (the drywall contractor can complete most of the construction), the D-Stud System is rapid and easy to build on site, meaning faster construction and substantial cost savings.

Lightweight

Lighter than other systems, the D-Stud System requires less foundation size and storage space and related costs.

Fire resistance

The D-Stud System is capable of up to 2 hours fire resistance. The system can be constructed to achieve fire resistance ratings to meet various design requirements.

Structural stability

The D-Stud System can provide walls up to 13.4 metres in height without strapping or nogging, that are extremely stable and capable of withstanding design pressures without rotation or torsional buckling.

NeighbourZone™

NeighbourZone™ is a suite of plasterboard systems specifically developed to reduce neighbour noise that can be heard through existing dividing walls between dwellings.

All NeighbourZone™ systems are applied to one side of the wall and designed to reduce the level of noise in critical frequencies by approx 10 dB, effectively halving the level of neighbour noise.
