Traditional charm with modern comforts
The primary consideration for the owners of this Perth home was balancing elegance with function. They wanted an ‘entertainer’s home’ that blended modern comforts and technology with classic heritage and style. Looking to wind down towards retirement, the owners were looking to build a home that was both stylish and comfortable.
Paul Meschiati and Associates had a large space to work with. The single story 1271 m² home built on two adjoining blocks in Dalkeith was landscaped to blend indoor and outdoor seamlessly. French doors open up to wide verandas treated with timber grain ceramic plank tiles wrap around the home.
Inside, the coffered Californian bungalow-style ceilings sit 4 m+ high throughout, complete with concealed strip lighting. All signs of the modern technology (air conditioning and speakers) are invisible to the eye which maintains the clean lines of the home.
The heart of the home is the kitchen, scullery, chef’s prep kitchen and wine store. Designed as independent rooms, but with the flow to link seamlessly and work as the ultimate culinary hub. Interior designer Louise Meschiati chose white marble for the kitchen island and benchtop, which contrasts with warm wood cabinetry and flooring.
A feature of the living area is the Escea DX1500 multiroom fireplace. Double sided for indoor/outdoor entertaining, the gas fire is surrounded by large marble stone tiles used as cladding above the fire, and feature timber mantels above and below. The multiroom fire is ducted to other rooms in the house, for an efficient way to heat the home. Being a home designed for entertaining, a fireplace at the hub was the perfect feature for ambience.
Paul Meschiati and Associates chose Escea for the style and quality the products offers. Having used them previously on projects before they were familiar with the brand and their reputation.
Modern, efficient and easy to use, our Escea indoor and outdoor gas and wood fires are the perfect combination of innovative technology and quality design.Learn more
