Taubmans Colour Galaxy website designed for colour specifiers
After collecting feedback and listening to the industry, Taubmans has unveiled an innovative new professional online colour tool, designed to simplify the colour selection journey for architects and interior designers.
Housed online at Taubmans.com.au, The Taubmans Colour Galaxy is a first-of-its-kind sophisticated tool that allows colour specifiers to find and view any Taubmans colour by name, code, and HEX, RGB or LRV value. In addition, the Colour Galaxy enables users to upload images and colour match these to one of Taubmans’ 5,762 colours.
The tool provides users with five different options for exploring colour; a colour wheel, scrolling along a colour wall, via an uploaded image, search functionality and through a 3D colour galaxy that can be navigated on screen. A unique representation of colour using CIE-LAB spatial positioning, the 3D colour galaxy offers a comprehensive visualisation of the complete spectrum of colour available in the Taubmans paint range.
Designed as a digital tool to be used alongside traditional colour fandecks and paint brushouts, specifiers can use the Taubmans Colour Galaxy to test and view how colours perform under different conditions, allowing them to make increasingly informed decisions. The tool demonstrates the impact of light on colours, with effects like sunrise, sunset, midday, overcast, halogen and LED or fluorescent lighting showcased online for comparison.
To assist specifiers further, the Colour Galaxy also allows users to download multiple colour swatches, create bespoke colour palettes and request real paint brushouts free of charge. Selections can be recorded and shared with clients via email, print-outs or saved to desktops, tablets or mobile devices.
One of the oldest paint brands in the market, Taubmans has been painting Australian homes for over 110 years. Taubmans' new owners, PPG, also have a long history of applying global technologies to gain a competitive edge.Learn more
