SCHOTT AG introduces attractive ideas competition
Open innovation at SCHOTT-Rohrglas GmbH with prizes valued at more than $20,000!
SCHOTT-Rohrglas GmbH is currently sponsoring a competition on ideas to encourage people to make clever suggestions on what can be made out of an angular glass tube. After all, whether or not it is square, rectangular or five or more sided, glass tubing from SCHOTT-Rohrglas, based in the Bavarian town of Mitterteich, hasn’t been just round for some time. And this is what opens up unlimited possibilities for new applications.
Based on the principle of “open innovation” – this is the first project of its kind at SCHOTT – everyone is invited to submit ideas on new applications and markets for “Conturax” Pro glass profile tubing, and thus “help shape the future,” says Dr. Nikolaos Katsikis, who heads the project. Registration to participate in the competition can be done online by going to the website www.innovationskraftwerk.de.
Attractive cash prizes worth a total of more than $20,000 are being offered and, of course, one even has a chance of seeing one’s own ideas implemented in marketable products. The winners will also be given the chance to present their ideas to the management jury during an award ceremony to be held at the headquarters of SCHOTT Group in Mainz.
SCHOTT-Rohrglas GmbH in Mitterteich manufactures angular profiled tubes using a patented, direct drawing method. It is a subsidiary of SCHOTT Group, which has its headquarters in Mainz.
