Mining in Australia is renowned as a major primary industry; not only does it contribute a large share towards the GDP, but it also provides employment to over 750,000 Australians. In an industry susceptible to serious accidents and with the involvement of so many people, safety is particularly important. It is essential to know who is inside the mine, especially in times of emergency. One easy way to guarantee safety is by using turnstiles with an access control system.

Rotech’s TriStar FH is a newly designed Australian made full-height turnstile that offers multiple features, which make it especially suitable for the mining industry. It can be easily integrated with a card reading system that would only allow access to authorised personnel and would also record the number of people in the mine at a given point in time. The FH has a status indication feature that indicates when the turnstile is closed, in operation, or whether it has been manually released. To ensure that there is no unauthorised access, the turnstile could be configured to start the CCTV camera, set off an alarm, and/or flash a warning light if the turnstile operation is tampered with. We can also provide an anti-climb mesh frame and a roof for total security.

The TriStar FH can be easily customised to suit different requirements and facilitate ease of usage. These include fitting a PLC controller, integration with a GSM switching device to operate the turnstile using a mobile phone, or integration with a remote radio control. We can also provide a battery backup that could operate the turnstile for up to 3000 cycles without mains power. With an additional solar panel, the problem of power supply can be completely solved. This would also help to reduce installation costs, as the 240V power cables wouldn’t be required.

The TriStar FHP is a portable version with fold up steel ramps on the entry and exit. It is fitted with fork lift pockets to enable easy redeployment to various parts of the mine.

This bi-directional turnstile can be made from 304 or 316 stainless steel, making it robust and ensuring protection from corrosion. We provide a five year guarantee on the mechanism of this turnstile. It is created to provide our customers with a safe and secure method of access control with multiple features. With more than 15 years of experience we are extremely confident about the quality of all our products.
