Reconstituted composite wood used in the Green Roof project
Biowood composite decking & facades - Green Roof, Rushcutters Bay.

The Green Roof project is located on the rooftop of strata unit apartments located in Rushcutters Bay NSW.

Atlantis Design Landscape Architect - Mark Harper specified Biowood reconstituted composite wood decking for various reasons which met the objective of aesthetic natural wood look and feel, versatility, water resistant for surround decking pool application, R-11 slip resistant AS/NZS4586, meeting the non-combustible building requirement and virtually low maintenance.

While there are no balconies in the relatively small strata unit apartments, a singular attraction is the swimming pool and roof garden that provides a mix of private and communal outdoor space – a highly valued commodity for inner-city residents.

This project features a raised swimming pool with stepped decking constructed with low maintenance and fire retardant Biowood reconstituted composite decking, facades, planter boxes, an outdoor shower, open barbecue and low-energy LED illumination for the evening.

Biowood Australia providing an alternative aesthetic natural wood look, without the hassles of splitting, cracking, warping, cupping and virtually low maintenance for decking application for Australia.
