Queensland first for Logan
Logan has recently gained a new addition to the neighbourhood - a 400m2 KOMPAN FREEGAME Court located in Crestmead. The Court is the first of its kind in Queensland and only the third one in Australia.
The FREEGAME design explores the benefits of both sports and socialising and offers community members a place to meet, move, and have fun.
KOMPAN’s FREEGAME range is innovative and original. The size of the platform provides up to 10 activity zones for independent and group play, and supports games such as tennis, basketball, soccer, hockey, and running, to name a few.
FREEGAME is also designed to be a welcoming place for meeting and interacting. The space provides accessibility for all, with the broad entrance of the pitch allowing adolescents with disabilities to become involved either as participants or spectators.
It is hoped that the site will attract regular gatherings of young people, which will encourage the next generation to lead an active and healthy lifestyle.
“I’m really happy with the way the court has turned out. It’s a great asset to any community, and I hope it enhances the happiness and health of Logan residents,” said Craig Falvey, the Urban Play Consultant who managed the project.
KOMPAN FREEGAME courts have been developed in more than 1200 sites in Europe and are set to be equally as popular in the Australian market.
