National Lifestyle Village specifies Everbright E610
Everbright E610 Opal was installed recently at the multi sports hall development National Lifestyle Village Mandurah, Perth, WA as a completely translucent canopy roof structure.
This translucent canopy consisted of panels that were supplied in 13.67 m lengths (free span) and in 600 mm configurations, incorporating Locking System LS 2.5. Locking System LS2.5 weight and dead load calculations = 14 kg/sqm with a dead load of 0.141kN/sqm.
Our panels simply clip together, making the installation process rapid, as our product only requires to be joined every 600 mm on site.
The canopy total area was 288 sqm consisting of a panel length of 13.665 m x 21 m. The installation time on this project was two days, and five men were available on site.
The geometric details for this project:
- Free span 13 m / radius 14.775 m
- Slope 25 degrees
- Midpoint height 1500 mm
- Curved length with eaves 13.665 m
The design brief was for a modern translucent curved roof structure, which minimal structural requirements, and had an extended building life span. The client required a pleasant and attractive new sports hall for all the residence of the village to enjoy for many years to come. The project specification was to make use of all the natural light available.
Another key factor was for a product with superior acoustic and thermal performance, as during summer months it can reach high temperatures.
The Everbright E610's increased free span capabilities, made our polycarbonate system an excellent choice for this project giving the desired effect.
Since less structure is required with our system less shadows are created, and as such the natural light translucency is at its full potential. Additionally due to our unique panel design and the two air gaps the thermal performance and light transmissions are superior to alternative polycarbonate products on the market, making our system an excellent choice for this project.
Due to the heavy duty 74 mm thick profile the Everbright panels superior panel strength make our product one of the strongest translucent materials available in the world today.
Opal was the colour selected with 65% light transmissions. Another key factor was for a product which has a long life span. Makrolon 1243 is the material used in our polycarbonate roofing system, which is part of the worldwide Bayer Group.
Everbright E610 panels comes with a manufacture’s worldwide 10 year warranty and the panels have a life expectancy in excess of 35 years.
The front fix method was used on this development, which is the preferred fixing method for larger span curved projects and is different from the top fix method. The front fix method provides more strength and stability. On this particular project the structure was set at a 25 degree angle to accommodate our panels.
