Is this the world’s greenest building?

ARBS 2012 presents keynote speaker Jerry Yudelson, internationally renowned thought leader in sustainable buildings. Find out what Jerry thinks of our very own Pixel building, among others.

The Pixel building, recently awarded the world’s highest LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) rating from the US Green Building Council, is one of five Australian case studies in Yudelson’s forthcoming book The World's Greenest Buildings: Promise Versus Performance in Sustainable Design. It’s also a finalist in the ARBS industry awards category for HVAC Project Excellence (nominated by James L Williams).

In his keynote address, Yudelson offers an overview of the performance of “green” buildings around the world, and presents the business case for high-performing and zero-net-energy buildings. He discusses the specific energy use building designers should be aiming for, and explains how performance monitoring can lead to better design outcomes.

This is a presentation not to be missed for anyone involved in the design, construction, fit out or ongoing management of Australia’s building stock.

In the biggest show in its 14 year history, ARBS 2012 will pack more than 250 exhibitors under one roof at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre. Open over three days to allow visitors plenty of time to browse, exhibitors will showcase their latest offerings, including plenty that support architects and specifiers seeking high green star and NABERS ratings.
