Introducing Vertilux EcoPelmet
New Vertilux EcoPelmet.

Vertilux has made a new and important advancement in glazing and blind technology with the creation of the EcoPelmet™ System - an all-in-one solution that works with the building's air-conditioning system.

As tests have shown, air trapped between a building's perimeter glazing and the integral roller blinds heats up, impacting on cooling costs. Ingeniously, EcoPelmet™ uses the building's concealed ceiling space as a return air plenum for the building's air-conditioning system. The trapped heat is aspirated into the ceiling space and is then removed by the building's air-conditioning return air system.

The Australian designed and Patented EcoPelmet™ works in combination with an integral Vertilux roller blind system to provide measurable reductions in solar heat gain within the occupied space. This in turn reduces the energy consumption of air supply fans in the building's air-conditioning system. For the first time ever, the EcoPelmet™ System enables the roller blind and air-conditioning systems to work as one. This reduces the demands made upon a building's air-conditioning system, allowing for lower specifications at the outset and lower ongoing running costs. Energy study testing is completed for all Australian cities, with results that will have you asking for more information.

EcoPelmet™ has already been used in several projects in Perth, including the ongoing refurbishment of the Forrest Centre. This single glazed building was suffering extreme heat radiation through glazing which was compounded by an ageing air-conditioning system.
The EcoPelmet™ System was introduced to assist in reducing the solar heat gain and the energy consumption of air supply fans in the building’s air-conditioning system. EcoPelmet™ has now been adopted as the new specification for the building, and is being used as each floor is refurbished. Vertilux EcoPelmet™ and blinds are now written in to the fitout guidelines for the building.

The EcoPelmet™ System offers an extensive choice of Vertilux roller blinds in either single or double configuration within the one housing. And, used in combination with Vertilux Greenvision™ fabrics, can also assist in achieving points towards the Green Star™ ratings from the Green Building Council of Australia.

Vertilux Greenvision™ fabrics are PVC-free, low in VOCs and include the popular Trevira CS fabrics. In addition to achieving an excellent eco rating assessment from ecospecifier, Vertilux Greenvision™ fabrics also meet the requirements set out by the international Oeko-Tex 100 certification. Euroscreen, Euroscreen Metallised and EuroBloc fabric ranges have also been certified with a Green Tag™ Gold Plus rating.

Vertilux is innovation at work, and the new EcoPelmet™ is testimony to this.
