Hansgrohe's Focus electronic mixer wins the iF Gold Award
Hansgrohe's Focus electronic mixer.

The new electronic mixer in the Focus range from mixer and shower specialist Hansgrohe (www.hansgrohe.com) has a slender and gently rounded form. A high-profile jury of experts singled out the electronic wash basin mixer for an iF Gold Award 2012 in the product design category. It is only the 60th time the award has been granted. Design quality, finish, degree of innovation and the choice of materials are just some of the criteria used by the judges. In total, the 44 members of the jury judged 4,322 contributions in four different categories from 1,605 participants in 48 countries. A total of 1,218 submissions received the iF badge.

The Focus electronic mixer is wonderfully versatile in combination thanks to its clear design language. The rounded mixer body meets the flat, shimmering chrome surface of the spout. A discreet infrared sensor behind the high-quality sapphire glass regulates the water flow automatically to match actual usage, with a very short run-on time. The Hansgrohe EcoSmart technology enables low consumption levels by restricting the water flow to around five litres per minute. The admixture of air provides a pleasantly soft, full water jet.

Cleverly combined
Contact-free mixers combine a high standard of hygiene with resource-saving technology, two features that make them particularly highly valued in washing areas in public and commercial sanitary facilities. Water and energy are used efficiently by combining two technologies – infrared and EcoSmart. Particularly for frequent use, the integrated sensor technology regulating the on-off function pays for itself. The water consumption is always controlled to match actual usage and has a very short run-on time. The electronics "learn" and automatically adapt to the field of vision so that they continue to function reliably even when the ambient conditions change.

High-quality processing, a theft-proof aerator and an automatic water stop after no more than 60 seconds contribute to the long lifetime of Focus electronic mixers. There is a choice between battery- or mains-operated versions with or without temperature control. The Focus electronic mixer also proves its energy-saving credentials when battery-operated — the mixer can be turned on around 200,000 times before it needs a new battery
