Berlin, Alexanderplatz: urban hotels with beautiful bathrooms
Hotel RAMADA, Berlin.

Hotel professionals deem business to be above average if their establishments are able to attract plenty of guests over the medium to long term. Even in locations that are as heavily frequented by tourists as Berlin's Alexanderplatz, this is not going to necessarily be the case. Hospitality Alliance Deutschland AG, distribution partner of the US Wyndham Hotel Group, has devised a hotel concept that works to full effect in this location. With its two flagships on the Alexanderplatz, the RAMADA and the H2, Hospitality Alliance relies on brand names with individual character meeting the requirements of different target groups. And because any kind of travellers tend to love bathrooms of well-being, all 625 rooms of the directly adjacent “twins” are furnished with bathroom products from the Hansgrohe brand. The hotel operators deliberately went for water-saving products and a timeless design.

“Hansgrohe is unbeatable in terms of quality.” – (Carl-Christian Niehaus, interior designer)

Someone who has a lot of expertise in furnishing hotel complexes is Carl-Christian Niehaus. When asked why he used bathroom products from the Black Forest in the new bathrooms on the Alexanderplatz, the interior designer from Hildesheim did not hesitate in his reply: “Hansgrohe is unbeatable in terms of quality.” Not only in terms of the functionality and durability of the products, but also in the speedy handling of the orders. “Production, delivery and installation all go as smooth as clockwork.” After all, in order to keep costs down in projects of this size, every day counts. Niehaus explained that he has had a great working relationship with Hansgrohe for many years now. Above all, it is the sustainability that makes this his favourite brand. In hotel projects in particular, where the economical use of water is a major cost factor. The selected products are equipped with EcoSmart technology, which makes it possible to save up to 50 percent of this precious resource. In addition, said Niehaus, clients are impressed by the product design. “We usually opt for timeless design, something that we can always find at Hansgrohe.”

Everything within walking distance: art & culture, nightlife & shopping, atmosphere & fun

The hotel complex, which was completed in 2011, is situated between Alexanderplatz and Karl-Liebknecht-Straße, so it is right in the very centre of the metropolis. The television tower and Red Town Hall are just on the doorstep. The Cathedral, Museum Island, Prenzlauer Berg, Hackescher Markt – all of these are only a stone's throw away. The trendy Mitte district, popular for its shopping and nightlife, stretches out all around. Although the RAMADA and the H2 are very close together, the hotels tend to accommodate the needs and requirements of different groups of guests. This is because, in addition to business people, the hotspot that is the Alexanderplatz also attracts families with children. As well as lots of young people, of course. The H2 is designed specifically for this type of adventure-seeking clientele.

Luxurious & innovative: The RAMADA Hotel on the Alexanderplatz

Guests are enchanted by the exquisite ambience of the RAMADA Hotel. The 337 rooms and suites provide them with every comfort. The bathrooms (eight of which are wheelchair-accessible) are also adorned with Talis S mixers. When it came to showerpipes, Hansgrohe Raindance showerpipes were selected. In addition to the environmentally-friendly EcoSmart water-saving function, Hansgrohe's AirPower technology infuses water with air, so guests can enjoy voluminous, pearly raindrops from both showers. Guests can be enveloped in lush, gentle shower rain from above – or alternatively they can use the hand shower to focus the water on certain areas of the body.

The hotel is an oasis of relaxation at a key tourist spot

Say, for example, a hotel guest needs a burst of rejuvenation after coming back tired from a busy shopping spree, and would like to freshen up before the evening meal: the installed hand showers have three different jet type settings to choose from – ranging from a gentle shower to a stimulating gush of water. The soothing massage spray loosens up tense parts of the body. So the guest can go back out later, into what is arguably the only German city that never sleeps, feeling completely fresh and revitalised. The Berlin nightlife awaits!
