Australian designed, commercial, thermally broken window system
To be unveiled at this week’s Designex show is Aluminium Industries of Australia’s new U-max thermally broken commercial window framing system. U-max thermal break window systems deliver significant efficiencies to building facades with performance efficiency gains of up to 35% over standard systems.
AI’s Managing Director, Mr Jim Gallagher says “U-max is so much more than just a “green” product. U-max will provide building designers real cost savings over the total facade cost, and building operators significant operating cost savings through reduced energy consumption over time.”
U-max is without doubt the first Australian Designed thermal break system to utilise a combination of polyurethane and polyamide breaks together in the same suites. U-max has been designed in consultation with both European and American experts expressly for Australian conditions and existing Australian building styles and methodologies.
Another first - to be included as an intrinsic part of the U-max design - is AI’s patent pending rainwater evacuation system WATERSHED™. In reality, no framing system is totally dry. Whether by rain incursion or condensation from some other source, moisture will always exist inside hollow framing systems. WATERSHED™ efficiently addresses this issue and directs the flow of moisture throughout the framing system to the external facade.
Mr Gallagher also said the release of U-max will see a focus on increasing the overall quality of aluminium window facade manufacture via the introduction of intensive training programs that will not only involve training on the U-max range of products but also allied and complimentary facade elements such as glass, sealants and even logistical issues.
Aluminium Industries will be exhibiting this week at Designex on stand 1005.
