Another world first for Brightgreen: square beamed downlights
Australian LED lighting company, Brightgreen Pty Ltd, has designed the world’s first square beamed downlight. Its uniquely square beam offers unparalleled control and efficiency for the architecture, building and design industries.
Titled the D900 Cube, its square beam requires fewer lights to achieve the same lighting levels as circular downlights, offering greater efficiency. The light’s square shape prevents light beams overlapping and eliminates dark corners forming, guiding light to follow the straight edges of a room and evenly dispersing light.

The D900 Cube is an evolution on Brightgreen’s multi award winning D900 Curve, which has sold over 25,000 units. The light is UV free and operates at 2.8W m2, easily complying with the BCA’s 2011 requirements.
“Until now only round downlights have been fitted to square rooms which detracts from the clean and confident characteristics that linear edged spaces provide”. David O’Driscoll, Brightgreen CEO and D900 designer.
The D900 Cube will be launched at this year’s DesignEX in April, where Brightgreen was awarded Best Product last year.
