Altair® Louvre Windows in a Hilltop House at Avalon, NSW
Altair® Louvre Windows in a Hilltop House at Avalon, NSW

Built on the western foreshore slop of Clareville Beach (in Climate Zone 5), floor-to-ceiling glass Altair Louvre Windows have been specified by Richard Cole Architecture throughout this contemporary residential project to assist with maximising natural views, prevailing breezes and cross flow ventilation.

As Altair Louvre Windows are an essential element of passive design, the home has been designed to ensure energy efficiency was increased as this region experiences hot summers and cool winters. Timber frames incorporating Altair Louvre Galleries with low e glass blades have been selected to provide protection from heat gain so that good visible light can be transmitted with low solar heat transmission. This helps to keep the home at a comfortable temperature, no matter what time of day or season it is.

This home has beautiful natural surroundings with breath-taking bush views that helped this project win a 2010 AWA award for ‘Best Use of Windows’ in a new residential construction.
