The award winning Abbotsleigh School for Girls Multipurpose Assembly and Sports Hall won the NSW - William E Kemp Award for Education and a commendation for Sustainable Architecture for AJ+C Architects

Allen Jack & Cottier Architects appear to have mastered the recipe for prize winning recreational halls, having picked up yet another AIA award over the weekend. Their Abbotsleigh School for Girls Multipurpose Assembly and Sports Hall has won them the NSW - William E Kemp Award for Education and a commendation for Sustainable Architecture. The project is now on the shortlist for the National Awards.

This adds to their other prize winning Recreational Halls, Berry Hall in 2008, and Milson Island 2011/12. In all 3 of these projects Supawood products are a key ingredient featuring extensively. At Abbotsleigh AJ+C over 3,000 sq m of SUPAWOOD panels were used throughout the interior and on sheltered parts of the exterior, much of which are bespoke curved panels.

Abbotsleigh, like the other two, has also received international recognition and is on the World Architecture Festival Awards shortlist. This project has also been featured in the IAKS’s (International Association for Sports and Leisure Facilities) SB Magazine as the cover article. Congratulations to Architects AJ+C!
